A devoted practitioner and student since the age of 19, Alex (she/her) felt a deep calling to share yoga with others. In 2018 she had the honor of journeying further on this path by completing her Krama Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training through Illumina yoga under the guidance of Johanna Bell, Kathleen Savoy, Melissa Lopez Landers and Maria Wagner. She continued her studies with certifications in Restorative Yoga with Margo Rosingana and Yin Yoga and Mediation with Sagel Urlacher.
Alex is a deep believer in the multi-layered therapeutic qualities of yoga practice; that mindful movement, breath and stillness can have profound effects on well-being. She feels passionately that there is a form of yoga for every body; one that honors all ages, physical abilities and fitness levels. Her mission as a teacher is to create an atmosphere of inclusion and accessibility to all levels of experience. Alex’s teaching style emphasizes self-expression over self-improvement and encourages her students to honor themselves rather than alter themselves. She believes that small ripples of kindness and compassion created on the mat can lead to big waves of change in the world.
