Kate (she/her) has always found inspiration in movement; it offers a connection to herself unavailable otherwise. In April 2020 the whole world shifted, and so did something for her. She found her way to a yoga mat and her life changed forever. Developing a regular yoga practice quieted her mind, moved her, and became a needed balance to a rigorous professional life. Through this connection to her body she was able to grow her practice, create space within herself, and strengthen physically, mentally, and emotionally. Her passion is to share this journey with others through the teachings of yoga.
Kate offers a strong yet accessible teaching style that allows you to savor savasana all the more. With a focus on alignment and breath, classes are designed for all levels. She loves teaching restorative yoga, offering a restful experience that allows for the release of tension and stress with a focus on the physical, emotional and cognitive benefits of the practice. She believes yoga is not about looking perfect in a pose but rather finding a path of self-awareness through embodiment and movement. Kate is a 200-hour RYT and graduate of Sundara Yoga in Brunswick, ME and she completed the Art of Stillness Restorative Yoga certification with Margo Rosingana.
In addition to her yoga practice, she loves being in or on the water. She grew up on the coast of Maine and these experiences have shaped and grounded her all her life. She loves living on the water, exploring Maine’s beautiful islands, and being part of this special place that is her home. In Maine's winter months she looks forward to snow and the quiet it brings.
