Vinyasa
Liz (she/her) is a Maine gal born and raised. She originally kicked off her yoga journey practicing Bikram way back when that was a thing. Asana supported her mind and body through her undergraduate education in Public Health and Sociology from UMass Amherst. Yoga philosophy enhanced her experience during her Peace Corps service in Guyana, South America (2016-2018) as a maternal and child health volunteer. When she completed service in 2018, Liz headed to Thailand for her 200-hour training in vinyasa and restorative yoga, and returned to Maine eager to engage with the movement/fitness community in the Portland, Maine area. In 2021, Liz completed a second 200-hour training with Awakening Yoga Academy, based out of Seattle, WA and has completed education in mobility and functional movement, breathwork, yoga philosophy and Ayurveda. She has two cats, loves a good book and dance party. She is also a host at Fore Street and loves yummy wine and delicious cooking!
Liz approaches the privilege of guiding humans through movement with deep reverence for our time, attention and practice. She loves to creatively weave meditation, breathwork, gentle flow, vinyasa and hatha yoga together to create a joyful journey on the mat for all levels of practitioners. Her class sequences are spicy, soft and seasonally themed. She leads with the intention to invite us to make friends with our bodies and create space for self-compassion. Her classes will support you to explore your body's range of motion, practice inner and outer balance, build strength and expand self awareness -- all to a solid playlist. She believes advanced yoga happens off the mat.
