Maria sanchez herrera

Trauma informed yoga for women

Maria Rosita Sanchez Herrera (she/her) was born and raised in Lima, Peru. For over 25 years she has been learning about the effects of colonialism that have impacted her life. She has been studying ancient healing traditions such as medicine the Queros of the Andes of Peru, shamanic energy practices, embodiment practices, breathing, and meditation practices and has been implementing these healing practices to decolonize her mind and body. She empowers people through sharing these ancient healing practices to befriend their bodies and live their lives with compassion.

She works with women who are survivors of sexual or domestic violence. We empowered each other through embodiment practices such as breathing and movement practices to learn to self-regulate symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Maria is a Kripalu & a Kundalini certified yoga instructor. She is also a certified Warm Water yoga instructor.

Maria teaches our FREE Trauma Informed Yoga for Women class on the 3rd Wednesday of every month.
